Background
Ravikant moved from India to Queens, New York, as a child. He attended Stuyvesant High School and studied computer science and economics at Dartmouth.

In 1999 he co-founded Epinions, a consumer-review site, and later sued its investors over his payout.
AngelList
In 2010 he co-founded AngelList with Babak Nivi, which made it easier to raise money and invest in start-ups. He helped lobby for the JOBS Act, which changed US rules on start-up fundraising.
