Background
Weiner studied economics at the Wharton School and worked at Warner Bros. and Yahoo!, where he became an executive vice-president.
Joining LinkedIn in 2008 as interim president, he became CEO in 2009. He focused on making it the professional network for jobs and learning, leading its 2011 IPO.
Microsoft
In 2016 Microsoft bought LinkedIn for $26.2 billion. Weiner stayed as CEO until 2020, then became executive chairman, handing over to Ryan Roslansky.

He is known for promoting “compassionate management” and is a venture partner at Next Play Ventures.
