Biography
Background
Catz was born in Holon, Israel, and moved to Massachusetts as a child. She studied at the Wharton School and earned a law degree from the University of Pennsylvania.
Banking
She worked as an investment banker at Donaldson, Lufkin & Jenrette, covering technology companies.
Oracle
Joining Oracle in 1999, she became president in 2004 and chief financial officer. She led many of Oracle’s acquisitions, including PeopleSoft and Sun Microsystems. In 2014 she and Mark Hurd became co-CEOs; after Hurd’s death in 2019 she led alone.
Executive vice chair
Under her, Oracle grew its cloud business and AI data-centre deals. In September 2025 she handed the CEO role to Clay Magouyrk and Mike Sicilia and became executive vice chair.
