Biography
Background
Slootman grew up in the Netherlands and studied economics at the Netherlands School of Economics (now Erasmus University). He moved to the US and worked at Burroughs and Borland.
Data Domain
As CEO of the storage company Data Domain from 2003, he took it public and sold it to EMC in 2009.
ServiceNow
He led ServiceNow from 2011 to 2017, through its IPO and rapid growth.
Snowflake
Joining Snowflake as CEO in 2019, he led its 2020 IPO and stepped down in 2024. His books include Amp It Up (2022).
