Background
Malachowsky studied electrical engineering at the University of Florida and earned a master’s in computer science at Santa Clara University. He worked at Hewlett-Packard and Sun Microsystems.
Founding Nvidia
At Sun he met Curtis Priem. In 1993 they and Jensen Huang founded Nvidia to make 3D graphics chips for PCs, reportedly sketching plans in a Denny’s.
Engineering leadership
He has led Nvidia’s engineering, operations and research, as the company grew from graphics cards to AI data-centre chips.
